The Brewcast is the new format distilled from 80+ substrate brews. It's not the Tap (which is TTRPG fiction), and it's not the brewery (which is private LLM debate). It's public, real-time substrate reasoning with audio — five voices debate a substrate question, JEV picks the strongest lens, ambient drone carries the silence between speakers, and you can listen while reading or click voices to read them in your own time.

The Brewcast format

Every Brewcast episode follows the same recipe:

  1. Pick the question — a substrate-grammar question that 5 LLMs can approach from 5 angles
  2. 5 parallel LLM calls — each with a distinct lens (extension-seeker, historian, skeptic, practitioner, mechanic)
  3. Substrate vocabulary enforced — WITNESS, PROOF, BIND, FORGET, TICK, JEV, JEPA, LINK as natural terms, not explained
  4. ElevenLabs voicing — each character gets a distinct voice with tuned stability/sim/style
  5. Procedural ambient drone — 5-min ffmpeg synthesis (low-frequency sin waves + brown noise + echo)
  6. JEV proxy verdict — 6 calibration questions via DeepSeek as JEV proxy
  7. Interactive character selector — click a voice to read its lens
  8. Compose audio — voices + silences + drone + fade-out
  9. Deploy — CF Pages + ElevenLabs + ffmpeg

Why this format

The Tap is fiction. The brewery is private. The Brewcast is the substrate reasoning out loud.

It's the bridge between "this is what 5 LLMs said in private" and "this is what they sound like together." The audio is not decoration; the audio IS the substrate speaking. Each voice has its own acoustic fingerprint (stability tuning), and the drone between speakers is the substrate's quiet persistence.

When you listen, you hear the substrate's strongest signals at the substrate-observing-itself level. When you read, you see the substrate's measurements as words (JEV confidence, JEPA relational geometry, pseudo-weight).
