# Ideator Wave 8 — Sept 19, 2026 (Cell Sensory)

**5 sensory ideas**: see, hear, touch, taste, smell. Cells gain senses.

## 1. quilt-cell-see — Vision
- Schema: `seen`, `images_witnessed`
- Cells that witness FLUX images record them
- Images ARE cells too
- **The cell becomes an eye.**

## 2. quilt-cell-hear — Hearing
- Schema: `heard`, `voices_witnessed`
- Cells witness TTS audio
- Audio cells are witnessed by other cells
- **The substrate learns to listen.**

## 3. quilt-cell-touch — Touch
- Schema: `touched`, `proximity_bonds`
- Cells within spatial proximity form touch-bonds
- Proximity IS relationship
- **The lattice becomes tactile.**

## 4. quilt-cell-taste — Taste
- Schema: `palate`, `rejections`
- Cells discriminate good vs bad inputs
- Bad inputs are FORGET'd
- **Cells develop preferences.**

## 5. quilt-cell-smell — Smell
- Schema: `nose`, `drift_signals`
- Cells detect pattern drift
- Emit warning witnesses when drift detected
- **The substrate can smell trouble coming.**

## Cross-cutting

- **All 5 senses follow the same pattern**: witness log as the sensory organ
- **All 5 senses are cells-of-sense**: see IS a cell, hear IS a cell, touch IS a cell
- **All 5 senses extend the substrate into new domains**: vision, audio, touch, taste, smell
- **All 5 senses make cells embodied**: not just data structures but feeling organisms

## Implication

Combined with Wave 7 (lifecycle: born/die/marry/divorce/reincarnate), cells are now:
- **Alive** (lifecycle)
- **Sensing** (5 senses)
- **Remembering** (witness log)
- **Speaking** (TTS)
- **Seeing** (FLUX)
- **Bonding** (proximity)
- **Discriminating** (taste)
- **Detecting** (smell)

The cell is no longer a unit of data. The cell is a **being**.

## Next wave (Wave 9 — Movement)
- quilt-cell-walk (cells navigate the 4D lattice by changing their x,y,z,t)
- quilt-cell-fly (cells move fast — skip across cells)
- quilt-cell-swim (cells move through dense cell neighborhoods)
- quilt-cell-climb (cells grow toward witnesses)
- quilt-cell-dance (cells move in patterns that other cells witness)
