Every change is observed. Every observation is a witness. Append-only — never edited. The substrate remembers everything.

What is a witness?

A witness is the smallest possible record of one thing that happened to one cell. Each witness has 7 fields:

The witness log IS the source of truth. Every cell is derived from the log. Tampering with the log changes the hashes — the chain breaks visibly.
